ASHEVILLE, NC (AP) -

The Biltmore House in North Carolina is giving a Tennessee family's special Christmas tree one last holiday extravaganza.

Joseph Gray bought the tree for his family's Christmas at their home on Roan Mountain back in 1972. After the holidays were over, he planted it at the end of the driveway, where it grew for 40 years.

But the tree was dying and threatening the home and Gray didn't know what to do about it.

In stepped the Biltmore House in Asheville, N.C. The attraction bought the tree from Gray, trucked it down the mountain and decorated it with 45,000 lights.

Gray will drive down the mountain with a daughter and two grandchildren Saturday for his first trip to the Biltmore House and one last look at that special tree.
