LIBERTY, SC (FOX Carolina) -
The town of Liberty's police chief resigned on Monday, according to the interim chief.
Detective Adam Gilstrap, who was appointed acting police chief by the Liberty City Council, said Leland "Corky" Miller resigned Nov. 19 effective immediately.
Gilstrap said there are no immediate plans to replace Miller.
There was no further information released about why Miller resigned.
Miller had served as Liberty Police Chief since 2001. Gilstrap has worked for the Liberty Police Department since 2007 and served as an Anderson County deputy for two years prior.
