Donald Miller (Spartanburg Co. Detention Center)
SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Police said it took several hours to get a man to come out of a Spartanburg storage unit where he had barricaded himself with guns Saturday.
Spartanburg police were called to a home on Fulton Avenue where the victim said Donald Miller, 56, was armed in the backyard. Police said they spotted Miller, who pointed a handgun and shotgun at them then ran and hid in storage unit and refused to come out.
According to the police report, Miller had threatened to kill a woman who lived at the home where he also lived, prompting her to call 911.
Police called in deputies to help set up a perimeter and worked to get Miller to come out, which they said he did about 8 p.m.
Miller was arrested and charged with third-degree assault and battery, pointing and presenting a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
