The second of two inmates who escaped from the Pickens County Jail on Tuesday has turned himself in, deputies said.
Pickens County deputies said Rickylee Smith, 25, turned himself in Sunday. Deputies said Smith and Jonathan Dean Moody, 20, compromised a lock in a minimum security section of the jail about 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. They said the pair then scaled a 12-foot wall and slipped through a chain-link fence.
At 12:04 p.m. Wednesday, deputies said they located Moody in his underwear about a half mile from the detention center in a wooded area off of Highway 178 and he was taken back to the jail.
Deputies had saturated the area with the help of searching for Smith prior to him turning himself in.
According to the jail's website, Smith has been charged with several counts of burglary, larceny and a drug charge. Moody has been charged with armed robbery, larceny and several drug charges.
Deputies said two other inmates helped Moody and Smith with their escape. Their names have not yet been released.
