FAIR PLAY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Traffic was delayed for miles along Interstate 85 northbound near the Georgia state line Sunday afternoon after a two-car crash sent several people to the hospital.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened at 2:50 p.m. 2 miles south of Fair Play near mile marker 1 in Oconee County.

Troopers said traffic was already backed up when a Dodge Ram pickup truck rear-ended a Hyundai four-door sedan that was stopped in traffic.

The drivers of both vehicles were taken to Oconee Medical Center with injuries and a passenger in the Hyundai was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital, troopers said. They said there was one passenger in the truck that was not injured in the pile-up.

According to the Pit Crew Traffic online map, traffic was moving slowly in both directions approaching the crash, including southbound I-85 from mile marker 19 headed south.
