EASLEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The trial for a man accused of killing his wife by setting a storage shed on fire is expected to start this week.

Jury selection began Monday in Pickens County for Donald Kinsela, who was charged with murder and first-degree arson in connection with the July 2010 death of his wife, 47-year-old Cheryl Kinsela.

Following Cheryl Kinsela's death, investigators first thought the fire in the shed at the couple's Beverly Drive home had been caused by an electrical problem, but after several months of investigation, State Law Enforcement Division agents decided Donald Kinsela set the shed on fire while his wife was trapped inside.

Authorities said Donald Kinsela lied when he claimed he tried to save her. Following his arrest, Donald Kinsela was released from jail on bond until the start of his trial.

The trial will begin once all of the motions are filed, according to the judge. Opening arguments are expected to start on Wednesday.
