Susan Martin (Spartanburg Co. Detention Center)
SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Police said they arrested a woman who tried to shoplift from a Spartanburg Walmart and bit a store employee.
Spartanburg police were called to the Walmart at 2151 E. Main Street about 8 p.m. Monday where the store's loss prevention officer had detained an alleged shoplifter Susan Martin, 56.
The officer told police he was talking to one man who had tried to walk out of the store without paying for some items when Martin tried to push a buggy full of items out of the store without paying.
When the store's officer detained Martin, he told police she became combative and bit him on the hand.
Police arrested Martin and charged her with third-degree assault and shoplifting.
