ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A woman was injured when her car crashed into a building Wednesday afternoon, according to Anderson police.

The crash happened about 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of North Main Street and East North Avenue.

Police said the woman was exiting a shopping center and her vehicle traveled straight across the intersection and into an abandoned building that used to house a Chinese restaurant.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

It was not immediately clear what caused the woman to crash into the building.
