GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenwood County deputies said they are investigating the death of a sheep that was shot to death Sunday morning.

According to an incident report, a farmer on Cedar Lake Court said he heard his dog barking before dawn, but didn't go outside to check on the commotion. He said that when it was daylight, he went outside to check on his animals and found a dead sheep that had been shot in the neck.

Investigators said they determined the shot came from the parking lot of a business near the pasture.

The farmer also told deputies that someone set his fire wood ablaze two nights before, according to the incident report.

Anyone with information about the crimes was asked to call the Greenwood County Sheriff's Office at 864-942-8600.
