The lottery ticket frenzy could be felt all across the Upstate on Wednesday.
The South Carolina state lottery officials said the Garden Spot in Taylors is the popular spot in the Upstate. They said it's a high-volume store when it comes to ticket sales and winners.
It's something that led many customers to come there to purchase their lucky ticket.
"I would probably help out a lot of my family and have a good time. I would also quit work," Elaine Gosnell said.
"I think a lot of people would benefit if I won. I would take care of my family, church, girls at work and just do a lot of good things," Valerie Martin said.
The winning numbers for Wednesday's drawing were 5, 16, 22, 23, 29 and the Powerball was 6.
While there were no jackpot winners in the Carolinas or Georgia, there was a Match 5 Power Play $2 million winner in South Carolina and some Match 5 $1 million winners in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
An unprecedented 140,000 winning tickets were sold in the Palmetto State totaling $5.3 million, with prizes ranging from $4 up to $2 million.
In South Carolina, a $2 million Powerball ticket was sold at the H & S Shoppe in Andrews and two $1 million tickets were sold at stores in Florence and Rock Hill. The six-figure winners matched all five white ball numbers drawn to win $1 million. One of the ticket holders purchased Power Play for an extra $1, to have the $1 million Match 5 prize increased to $2 million.
The South Carolina Education Lottery advises all players to sign the back of their winning tickets. Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes at the lottery's office in Columbia.
