Good morning - it's a cold, frosty start to the day across the area as temperatures have dropped into the 20s and 30s. Bundle up! By the afternoon, highs will return to seasonal levels - rising into the mid and upper 50s area-wide.
We'll keep a very quiet weather pattern in place today and through the weekend, with mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky cover overhead through the weekend. Temps will warm each afternoon - and by Monday they'll be about ten degrees above-normal.
While we could use the rain - we don't see any significant rain chances until the middle of next week, and even then I doubt we'll see a good washout. On the other hand, parts of California are going to get DRENCHED through the weekend, as a moist Pacific flow will keep soaking rainfall over the northern part of the state. Take a look at the 5-day rainfall total prediction from the NWS HPC - some parts of CA could see nearly a foot of rainfall by the end of the weekend! Yikes!
