PICKENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Pickens County deputies said they arrested a man who robbed an Easley couple who owed him money for working on a motorcycle.

The robbery happened about 11:30 p.m. Nov. 6 at 269 W. King St.

According to an incident report, a woman told deputies that a man, identified as 36-year-old Scott Crooks, of Liberty, had completed some work on a motorcycle, and she owed him $200. The woman said that Crooks had shown up at her house several times and asked for the money, but she never had it.

The woman told deputies that on Nov. 6, someone knocked on the door of her home, and when a man living at the home answered the door, another man, wearing a red-and-black jacket and a red ski mask, stormed inside, deputies said. They said the man then pointed a gun in the couple's faces and made reference to $200 that he was owed.

According to an incident report, the woman told the man she didn't have the money, and the man fired a shot into the floor. The man then grabbed the woman's wallet, which had $900 inside, and fled the home, according to the report.

Crooks was arrested Tuesday and charged with armed robbery, first-degree burglary, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and two counts of attempted murder. He was being held in the county jail.
