SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Spartanburg County deputies said an undercover operation ended with an arrest and the seizure of 360 gaming machines.
Deputies said they had been watching a warehouse at 849 California Ave. since September. They said that during that time they had noticed 28-year-old James Byars coming and going at the warehouse. They said Byars was also seen locking the warehouse in the evenings.
On Nov. 14, deputies said they executed a search warrant at the warehouse and found 360 gaming machines, electronic computer boards with illegal game names and materials addressed to Byars.
Byars was charged with unlawful possession and operation of slot, video, vending or gambling devices.
