Dozens of parents are finished camping out to get their children into one of Greenville County's most popular schools.
The parents were allowed inside A.J. Whittenberg Elementary School about 7:30 a.m. Monday to put their child on a waiting list to hopefully get into the school.
Many parents spent the weekend camping out to be the first in line to get their kids into the school with an engineering-based curriculum. The Greenville County School District gives all parents a chance to make a school assignment choice.

The window to request changes started Monday and goes until Jan. 4. It is on a first come first serve basis. Several parents said it's worth the wait if their child gets into a good school.
On Friday, one parent suffered minor injuries in the process when some parents began pushing and shoving, according to district officials. The incident has led the district to review the idea of students getting in on a first come, first serve basis.
