ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Anderson County deputies said they are looking for a man who escaped their custody at AnMed Health on Monday.

Deputies said they had arrested 49-year-old Billy Joe Harris earlier in the day on charges of stalking, public disorderly conduct and unlawful communication. They said Harris was taken to the hospital after his arrest for medical treatment. They said that Harris, who was handcuffed, ran out of the hospital after being treated about 6 p.m.

Harris was described as white, 5'6" tall and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and tan, combat-style boots.

Deputies used bloodhounds to track Harris, but were unable to find him.

Anyone with information on Harris' whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC (888-274-6372).
