After a mild - even warm - few days across the area, we've got a much chillier story coming today. A "wedge" pattern will set up on Thursday, keeping us cloudy and chilly. We'll also see the chance of a few light rain showers/pockets of drizzle through the day.
There are a few raindrops out there this morning, and we'll continue to watch for drizzle/spotty showers off-and-on throughout the morning and afternoon. However, many areas will stay dry - and spots that see wet weather will not get much. Any rainfall accumulations through the area will be a few hundredths of an inch - if that. Most areas will see a trace or less. When it's not raining, it will look like it's about to - with cloudy skies holding tough.
Temperatures are in the low to mid 50s this morning in the Upstate, and I expect temps to slightly drop over the next few hours. In the Mountains, we're starting off in the mid/upper 40s and will warm only a bit by late-AM. Afternoon temps will be very close to where they are now, as thermometers will hold in the low to mid 50s area-wide through the PM hours. This will be a very noticeable drop compared to how comfortable it was earlier this week - so grab a sweater and/or jacket!
Winds may be a bit breezy at times, out of the northeast in the Upstate at 6-12 mph.
Tomorrow's forecast will be similar to today's - then we've got that weekend warm up coming (Andy previewed it in his post last night). Of course, that mild spell doesn't last long, either... we'll cool back down by Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
