CLINTON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A contract worker at Presbyterian College was arrested Thursday night after police said he was drunk at work and armed with a gun, showing it to a co-worker.

Clinton police said they were called to the school's cafeteria about 10:30 p.m. after the food service employee, 29-year-old Christopher Lear, was drinking and showed a gun to another worker. Police said that worker notified authorities to report the weapon.

Police said once they entered the dining hall, they found Lear preparing food in the kitchen. They said when they detained and frisked him, they found an open bottle of liquor and a revolver in his pants.

Upon inspection, police said the gun's hammer was broken off and was not loaded with any ammunition.

Lear was arrested and charged with open container in public, disorderly conduct, unlawful carrying of a weapon, and carrying a weapon.
