ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -
Police said a man was shot in the parking lot of an Asheville McDonald's Thursday after two groups of people got into an "altercation."
Asheville police were called to the McDonald's on Smoky Park Highway near Interstate 40 Thursday afternoon where they found a 32-year-old man who had been shot in the stomach.
Police said a Buncombe County deputy who was at the restaurant heard the gunshot and was able to take two of three people into custody. Police said a third suspect ran away but was soon caught by deputies.
Two groups of people were in two cars in the parking lot when the fight took place, police said.
Tarrell Harris, 18, and Darrion Brown, 21, both of Asheville, were charged with armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and attempted first-degree murder, and are being held on bond at the county jail.
