TGIF! Our Friday forecast will be very similar to that of Thursday, with cloudy skies and cool temperatures sticking with us today. With that said, the temperatures that we'll see ARE seasonal - as you can imagine, mid-December temperatures are chilly!
We're starting off the morning hours with temperatures in the 40s - most are in the mid and upper 40s. By the afternoon, I'm expecting high temperatures in the mid and upper 50s for Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson and Asheville. The wedge pattern keeps temperatures pretty similar area-wide, so we won't see a major difference in weather between the Upstate and Mountain territory.
There are some widely scattered light rain showers out there this morning, and through the AM hours we'll watch for a few spotty raindrops. The afternoon will bring less of a rain chance - but we can't rule out an isolated shower as you're running errands after work. Clouds will stay overhead all day - so even when it's not raining, we'll keep the gloomy look.
By the weekend, the big weather story will be the warm-up! Highs will rise back into the upper 60s/low 70s in the Upstate and the mid 60s in the Mountains. We'll keep cloud cover around this weekend - but there will be some more peeks of sunshine on Saturday. Mostly cloudy skies return on Sunday, with a few light rain showers scattered about.
Temperatures stay mild on Monday, with a cold front bringing a good shot of rain (perhaps ending as a few high-elevation WNC snowflakes) early in the week. It will also bring a push of cooler air back into the region - by the middle of next week we'll see highs return to the 50s.
