GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville police said they have made an arrest in connection with a shooting in the Nicholtown community Friday afternoon.

Police said a man was walking along Nichol Street near Washington Court about 2 p.m. when a car drove up and someone shot him. Police said the driver then sped off.

Police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Kendrick Omar Cobb. Cobb turned himself in Monday after he saw himself on TV, police said. He was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Police said the victim ran to nearby Rebecca Street to get help, and was taken by paramedics to a local hospital. Officers said they believe the shooting was an isolated incident.

Family has identified the victim in this case as 20-year-old Tykeon Gardner. His family said Monday afternoon that he is out of the hospital and recovering.

However, Greenville County jail records show Gardner was booked into the Greenville County jail Saturday on charges of armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and a probation violation. His family said late Monday that he was arrested, though jail records show he is still in jail.

According to arrest warrants, Gardner was charged in connection with a robbery of a man on Dec. 3 on Maco Street in Greenville, which is also in the Nicholtown community. Police said Gardner arranged to meet the victim of the robbery about 8 p.m. then stole $1,200 from the victim's pockets.

Cobb is being held on combined $60,000 bond in connection with the shooting while Gardner is being held on combined $25,000 bond in connection with the robbery.
