Escaped inmate located in Anderson County - FOX Carolina 21

The State Law Enforcement Division has located an inmate that escaped a medium security prison over the weekend.

SLED says they caught 34-year-old Andrew McElrath Tuesday afternoon in Anderson County after receiving multiple tips about his whereabouts.

McElrath, an Anderson native, was discovered missing during a roll call Saturday afternoon at the Wateree River Correctional Institution.

McElrath was serving a sentence for a conviction of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle out of Anderson County.  He was a little more than two months into a sentence that would run until May, 2013.
