Beloved DJ, restauranteur 'Country Earl' dies at 79

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Beloved disc jockey and restaurant owner Earl Baughman, known as "Country Earl" died Monday at 79.

Baughman's family said he died from pneumonia.

Not only did Baughman own a restaurant named for his nickname, he was a radio announcer on several local stations and an accomplished musician who was inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.

Baughman is survived by his three daughters, three brothers and six grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Brookwood Community Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Greenville.
