GAFFNEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Investigators continue to look for whomever killed an Upstate woman 16 years ago.

Sheila Patterson Manley's body was discovered Dec. 11, 1996 on the side of the entrance ramp to Interstate 85 near exit 100 in Cherokee County, deputies said.

Cherokee County Sheriff Steve Mueller said he hopes someone will come forward with information that will lead them to Manley's killer so her family can finally have some closure. Mueller and deputies spent Tuesday passing out flyers in the hopes of generating new information for their investigation.

"We believe, in this case here, someone locally knows about the death of Sheila Manley and they're holding that piece of the puzzle," Mueller said. "And we believe, if they'll come forward, it will give us the things that we need to bring someone to, make an arrest in this case."

Manley's niece spoke with FOX Carolina on Tuesday near where deputies were passing out flyers in the area where her body was found.

"We never gave up; we never gave up," niece Tabitha Hollins said. "We never will, till we know, nobody ever gives up. I mean, we want justice. We want to see, you know, we want to see whoever did it get the right punishment."

If anyone knows anything that might help investigators solve Manley's homicide, they're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC. You can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a $2,500 reward.
