GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Chandler family says their baby boy was the first born at an Upstate hospital on the special, easy-to-remember date of 12/12/12.

Rome Joseph Chandler was born just after midnight at St. Francis Hospital to parents Lindsay and Scott Chandler. He weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces.

The spokesperson for Greenville Hospital System said they had four babies born overnight at Greenville Memorial, with the earliest birth after 2 a.m.

With the birthday of 12/12/12, the parents of Rome and other babies born Wednesday will have an easy time remembering their children's birthdays.

The date is also a popular wedding date choice, making it easier for couples to remember their anniversaries. The 12/12/12 date is the last triple-digit date for 89 years where the month, date and year are the same numbers. The next will be Jan. 1, 2101 or 01/01/01. There will be dates that have all the same numerals sooner, such as Feb. 2, 2022.
