HENDERSONVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -
Allegations of a sexual assault that happened last weekend are being investigated by the State Bureau of Investigation, according to Henderson County Sheriff's Office spokesman Capt. Frank Stout.
Stout said that the incident, which allegedly happened Dec. 8 at a deputy's home, involves students at East Hendersonville High School, but no arrests have been made.
Because of the nature of the accusations and the people involved in the case, deputies asked state investigators to look into it, Stout said.
Stout said that no adults were home at the time the alleged sexual assault happened.
A spokeswoman for the SBI could only confirm that the agency is investigating the case.
Henderson County Public Schools Superintendent David Jones said he has been made aware of the allegations. He said his staff is cooperating with law enforcement during the investigation.
