I know many of you do not have weather on your mind, but are praying and mourning for the victims of the tragic Connecticut shooting. You can go to our weather page: www.foxcarolina.com/weather for the 7-day forecast and other weather stuff.
Today I was at West End Elementary speaking about the weather, then drove home to hear the news of the Connecticut tragedy. After having worked in news for a while, I feel like I have been desensitized to some things, but this truly got to me. I cried all the way down Hwy 123, 153 and I85 on the way back to the station. I know the pregnancy hormones played a role, but so did the little girl I'm carrying. I can't imagine how much grief the parents of these young children are facing. My little one isn't even here yet, but I feel the pain and sorrow already thinking about what she could be and if she were there. I hope you can all hug your kids tonight and keep those affected in Connecticut in your thoughts and prayers. We are covering the story and talking to folks across the Upstate about it, and we'll bring you all of that tonight at 10.
I think we are all left asking, WHY???!!! Why would this happen? What was this guy thinking? I'm sure we will know more in upcoming days. It's a tough day at Fox Carolina as we look for those answers. I'm also still doing my job of forecasting the weather... and it looks like rain is still on tap for Sunday and Monday. I'll have more for you on the Fox Carolina Facebook page and on air tonight.
