FAIRPLAY, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Troopers said someone died in a crash along Highway 59 in Oconee County on Tuesday morning.
The Highway Patrol initially reported the wreck happened about 9:30 a.m. near Deans Drive in Fair Play as a collision with injuries and entrapment.
Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said 79-year-old James Brown, of Fair Play, was trying to turn into a driveway along West Fair Play Boulevard when his car was hit by a tractor trailer.
Addis said Brown was taken to Oconee Medical Center where he died about an hour after the crash.
