Police said they were called to a Greenwood home Sunday where they found a man had been attacked with a bottle of liquor.
Greenwood police said when they arrived at the Baptist Avenue home, finding one man lying on the porch and another who told them, "Yeah, I hit him in the head. I hit him with that liquor bottle."
Police said the victim had cuts on his head, was bloodied, and had an eye swollen shut. They said a shattered bottle of gin was lying on the ground nearby.
As they spoke to the other man identified as 37-year-old Luther Belcher III, police said Belcher told the victim to leave and when he wouldn't, they began to fight and hit him in the head with the bottle.
Belcher was arrested and charged with assault and battery and the victim was taken to the hospital.
