TOWNVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies are investigating a home invasion and shooting in Townville Wednesday morning.

Anderson County deputies said they were called to a home on Dogwood Lane after a woman said three men kicked in the front door, fired shots, made her lie face down on the floor then took her son.

The men told her not to call 911, then fled the scene while she waited 30 minutes to call for help, deputies said.

Incident reports state the home invasion happened about 4 a.m. then about 45 minutes later, deputies were called to an apartment on Stancil Road in Anderson.

The victim told deputies he was shot in the foot in Townville and then someone pistol-whipped him. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Deputies have not said how the two incidents are connected or if anyone has been arrested in connection with the home invasion and shooting.
