MOUNT CROGHAN, SC (FOX Carolina) -
State Law Enforcement Division has canceled an Amber Alert for two young children in Chesterfield County.
SLED officials said the children were abducted from the Mount Croghan area of Chesterfield County on Thursday about 7:30 a.m.
A 5-year-old boy named Dennis Matthew Penny III and 2-year-old Grace Elizabeth Penny were reportedly abducted by 37-year-old Dennis Matthew Penny II, according to the SLED Amber Alert.
SLED officials said they may be traveling in a white 2005 GMC Sierra Truck with South Carolina tag HXQ669. The truck has holes on the back right and left fenders.
SLED said the boy was wearing a Buzz Lightyear pajama shirt with green fleece pants, and the girl was wearing a blue shirt with the picture of a monkey on the front and red, white and blue pajama pants.
They said the boy weighs 47 pounds, is 4' tall, has blue eyes and short blonde hair. They said the girl weighs 25 pounds, has blue eyes and shoulder-length curly reddish blonde hair. They said Dennis Penny II is weighs 185 pounds, is 5'10" tall, has blue eyes and brown hair.
SLED officials said the children were found safe and Dennis Penny II was in custody in North Carolina after a brief police chase that started in Lancaster, SC.
