COLUMBIA, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Ex-South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford may have plans to make another run for his former congressional seat.
News outlets are reporting that Sanford will seek the congressional seat in District 1, that will be vacated by Tim Scott's appointment to the U.S. Senate to fill outgoing Sen. Jim DeMint's seat.
The official announcement is not expected until after Christmas.
So far, there is only one official candidate running to fill the seat.
A primary election will be held in March to narrow down the candidates by party.
