HARTWELL, GA (FOX Carolina) -

Authorities are looking for an Anderson County man who they said rammed the cruiser of a sheriff during a chase that passed through two states.

Deputies in Hart County, GA, said that about 7 p.m. Tuesday they were notified of an erratic driver near the intersection of highways 51 and 77. They said that when they tried to stop the vehicle, the driver sped away.

Deputies said the chase reached speeds of 120 mph and ended in Anderson County, SC, when the driver ran his vehicle into the cruiser of Hart County Sheriff Mike Cleveland. They said the driver's vehicle sustained significant damage in the crash. They said the driver was forced to abandon his vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Investigators said they identified the driver as Michael David Brandon Chastain. He is wanted on charges in both Anderson and Hart counties.

Anyone with information on Chastain's whereabouts was asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC (888-274-6372).
