GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Greenville police said they are looking for a man who is believed to be connected to a recent rash of car break-ins throughout the city.
Police said the most recent break-in happened Dec. 10 at the Verdae Village Shopping Center.
Investigators said that the man forced his way into a car and stole a woman's purse, which contained her credit and debit cards. They said the man then used the stolen cards at a nearby convenience store.
Police said surveillance video from the store showed the man wearing a distinctive, maroon-and-yellow sports jacket. They said the video also showed the man driving a gray Nissan Altima or Toyota Camry.
Anyone with information on the man's identity was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME (864-232-7463).
Police also reminded drivers that they should always lock their cars, park in well-lit areas, never leave valuables in their vehicles and never put PINs or passwords in their wallets or purses.
