Troopers said a man was charged in a fatal wreck in Greenville County on Saturday night.
Troopers said Russell Fuller, 27, faces one count of felony DUI resulting in death and one count of felony DUI with great bodily injury after the crash on Bennetts Bridge Road.
Troopers said Fuller was driving a Lincoln Town Car when he tried to pass an oncoming vehicle and hit the vehicle head-on.
The Greenville County Coroner's Office said 21-year-old Spenser Smith, of Mauldin, was sitting in the front passenger's seat of the vehicle Fuller hit and died at the scene due to heavy trauma.
Troopers said the driver also was injured.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
