GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

To celebrate the end of 2012 and start of 2013, many restaurants, museums and more are hosting events to ring in the New Year.

Throughout Dec. 31, Upstate and western North Carolina residents and visitors can celebrate the end of 2012 in style at some of the following events.

The Children's Museum of the Upstate is hosting a pajama party for kids with their own countdown from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some local towns and churches have their own events planned including Unity Church of Greenville's Burning Bowl Ceremony which starts at 6 p.m.

Greenville's Ice on Main has extended hours to celebrate New Year's Eve with the rink staying open until 12:30 a.m. Downtown Spartanburg's Skating on the Square is staying open until 1 a.m.

For those looking for something celebratory and healthy, First Flight's Resolution Run features live music and a road race through downtown Anderson. The event starts at 8 p.m.

For those looking to dance and dine the night away, here is a list of some local restaurants, bars and more that are hosting New Year's Eve festivities:

  • NYE Dinner at Devereaux's - 5:30 to 11 p.m.
  • Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard NYE event - 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • The Handlebar's Blues Year's Eve concert - 8:30 p.m.
  • The Lazy Goat is hosting dinner and dancing - 9 p.m.
  • NYE Celebration in downtown Marion, NC - 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.
  • Glow NYE Gala at Centre Stage Theatre - 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • American Dance Club NYE Party - 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Hilton NYE Dinner and Party - 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Grove House NYE Party in Asheville - 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.
  • Nose Dive's NYE party - 10 p.m.
