ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) -

The South Carolina Gamecocks are, once again, Outback Bowl champions. The Gamecocks played a tight game against 18th ranked Michigan, but the most talked about play of the game came from a Rock Hill native.

All-American defensive end Jadeveon Clowney made a huge hit with 8:22 left in the game.

Michigan running back Vincent Smith took a hand-off and was immediately crushed by Clowney.  Smith's helmet flew off and bounced nearly ten yards.

Smith lost the ball and Clowney recovered the ball at Michigan's 31 yard line.

The play set up the Gamecocks to score just one play later with a pass to Ace Sanders, giving the Gamecocks a five point lead.

Michigan later scored, and the Gamecocks answered to hold on to the win with 11 seconds left in the game.

The video of Clowney's hit was posted on ESPN's YouTube site and was immediately posted on Facebook and Twitter accounts across the Southeast.
