Police: Woman whipped child, threw her into wall

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville police said a woman whipped a four-year-old child and threw her into a wall Sunday afternoon.

Police said that 25-year-old Krystal Covington was hosting a sleepover at her apartment when she hit a child who was attending with a belt several times and then threw the child into a wall. They said the child was not her own.

Covington was charged with cruelty to children. She was being held in the county jail on $470 bond.

The girl was treated for her injuries and is recovering at home.
