Good morning! It's hard to believe it's already Thursday (I guess that's the great thing about these short work-weeks)! Overall, the weather will stay fairly quiet as we head towards the weekend.
This morning you could encounter a spotty shower or area of drizzle, but we don't have much wet weather to talk about. In the Upstate, temps are starting off in the 40s... but thermometer readings have dipped into the 30s for the Mountains, so we could see some pockets of spotty freezing rain or freezing drizzle through the mid-morning. However, the key word with this rain is LIGHT, so I don't anticipate ANY ice accumulation or problems due to any freezing drizzle in WNC.
Any rain chance will end by lunchtime, with mostly cloudy skies hanging around into the early to mid-part of the afternoon. Clouds will finally begin to clear out late-day, especially by 5 PM and the evening hours. High temperatures will be seasonal, reaching the low/mid 50s in the Upstate and the mid 40s in WNC.
Friday will be a bright and dry end to the week - so if you need a good day to take down your Christmas decorations, tomorrow will be great! Highs tomorrow will be nearly the same as today's - mid 40s in the Mountains and low/mid 50s in the Upstate. By the weekend, we'll warm just a bit... with some cloud cover and a SMALL rain chance returning for Saturday and Sunday.
