TGIF! We are waking up to some cold temps, so make sure you're bundled up as you head outside this morning. Temperatures are starting off in the 20s and 30s in Upstate, WNC and NE GA spots. We're done with the rain/drizzle of yesterday, however, there could be a few foggy spots across the region over the next few hours. I think the best-chance areas for fog are in our southern and eastern spots.
Afternoon temperatures will rise to cool - but seasonal - levels, reaching the low/mid 50s in the Upstate and the mid/upper 40s in WNC. We'll stay dry through the afternoon under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. So today you will actually get some good use out of your sunglasses!
We'll stay mainly clear tonight, with lows dropping into the 20s and 30s once again. Clouds will build in during the day Saturday (especially during the afternoon/evening), with a small chance of a shower late-day. In the Upstate, any precip late tomorrow will fall as rain. However, up in the Mountains we could see a wintry mix of rain, freezing rain and some sleet. Here's the good news: any precipitation we see is going to be VERY light, so I don't think we'll see much of any ice accumulations. With the exception of a few isolated slick spots, roads in WNC should be okay.
Sunday will be dry in the Upstate and most of WNC - just a few flurries will fire up near the TN border. We'll start next week bright and dry, then rain chances and cloud cover return by Wednesday and especially Thursday.
