Joshua Edwards (Greenville Co. Sheriff's Office)
GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Deputies said they have made an arrest in the case of a man who was stabbed at a Greenville County hotel on Christmas Day.
Greenville County deputies said they found a man who was stabbed above the eye outside of a room at the Economy Inn on Augusta Road about 2:35 p.m. They said the man was taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery.
Investigators said it took them several days to identify a suspect, but eventually identified him as 28-year-old Joshua Edwards of Piedmont. Deputies said Edwards forced his way into the man's hotel room, stabbed him in the face and stole money from him before running away.
Deputies arrested Edwards on Thursday, charging him with attempted murder, kidnapping, burglary, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Edwards is being held in the Greenville County Detention Center without bond.
