Corey Malpass (Union Co. Detention Center)
UNION, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Police said an Upstate Wal-Mart employee is accused of stealing more than $4,700 worth of merchandise from his store in December.
Union police were notified that a worker at the Wal-Mart store on the North Duncan Bypass was seen on a security camera taking electronics, cologne and more several days in December, according to a police report.
The report said store management noticed missing tablets and empty boxes, and when they reviewed surveillance video, they saw 22-year-old Corey Malpass acting suspicious and concealing items.
Store workers told police they moved a security camera to a new area and saw Malpass once again open packages before he spotted the camera.
Police arrested and charged Malpass with breach of trust. He is being held at the Union County Detention Center.
