Deputies said nine young girls and a 19-year-old Union man are accused of attacking two 13-year-old girls.

Union County deputies were called a home on Short Street on Saturday where the two victims said a group of girls and Curtis Garrett jumped on them and beat them up.

Deputies said the two girls had minor injuries. The nine attackers, who were between ages 11 and 15, were arrested and later released into their parents' custody, deputies said.

According to deputies, Garrett was arrested and charged with third-degree assault and battery by a mob, multiple counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, among other charges.
