GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Gas prices in the Greenville area rose 4.4 cents in the past week, according to GasBuddy.com.
On Monday, the price-tracking website reported the average cost for a gallon of gas in Greenville was at $3.14 - 12 cents lower than the national average.
Locally, the price was 7.5 cents higher than last month, but less than a penny lower than last year. Nationally, the price was 9.3 cents lower than last month and 6.8 cents lower than last year.
AAA reported the average cost for a gallon of gas was at $3.20 in South Carolina, $3.36 in North Carolina and $3.32 in Georgia.
According to GasBuddy.com, Wyoming had the nation's lowest gas prices, while Hawaii had that nation's highest.
