FOUNTAIN INN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Bats were again found at Fountain Inn Elementary School over the weekend, according to Greenville County Schools Spokesman Oby Lyles.

Lyles said that during the weekend it was discovered that several bats had entered the school. He said that Monday morning, a bat was found in a kindergarten classroom and evidence of a bat was found in another kindergarten classroom. He said students in those rooms were relocated.

Maintenance staff and pest control experts found cracks in the building and in a ventilation system that allowed the bats to enter, Lyles said. He said the cracks were sealed and traps were installed that allow bats to exit the building, but not return.

Officials closed the school for a few days earlier this year after bats were found in a classroom, music room and the gymnasium. None of the bats that were tested were rabid.
