Deputies said a Greenwood woman is accused of kicking her toddler-aged son in the stomach because she was upset.
Greenwood County deputies were called to a home on Sullivan Street on Sunday about 5 p.m. where they were told Khadija Thomas, 20, was causing a disturbance, reportedly throwing bricks at the home and fighting with the father of her 2-year-old son.
The boy's father told deputies Thomas came over to argue about money and when his mother tried to get her to leave, she assaulted her then pulled the boy out of the car, kicked him in the stomach, knocking him to the ground.
When they spoke to Thomas, deputies said she admitting to kicking her son because she was upset. They said the boy had injuries on his stomach. Thomas was arrested and charged with cruelty to children.
