GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Deputies hope someone can identify a man who tried to cash a forged payroll check at a local Bi-Lo grocery store.
Greenville County deputies said the man stopped at the Bi-Lo at 3220 W. Blue Ridge Dr. about 6 p.m. Tuesday to cash the check, but the clerk was suspicious of his ID. The clerk went to get a manager and when they both returned, the man had disappeared, deputies said.
Investigators said the man's check was forged and his identification was altered. Deputies believe the man may have made attempts to cash similar checks at other local Bi-Lo stores.
Anyone who can identify the man seen in surveillance photo is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 864-23-CRIME.
