We've gotten a taste of the cloudiness today, mixed with periods of sunshine, but we'll get more persistent cloud cover by tomorrow, Thursday and Friday. Upslope showers will also develop through the day tomorrow as the clouds hold on. I don't expect widespread rain, and where it does rain it won't be heavy on Wednesday. Best chance for some widespread rain, that could be moderate at times, will be late Thursday night into Friday morning as a warm front passes by. We could pick up a quarter inch of rain Thursday night, then we should notice a slow drying trend on Friday.
Yep, it's a messy forecast. And it's not a clear-cut one either! Let's just say these kinds of forecast make me reach for the Advil (make that Tylenol since I'm pregnant!).
The weekend is going to be notably warmer than normal! Highs will reach the low to mid 70s in the Upstate and around 70 for the mountains both Saturday and Sunday! That's about 15-20 degrees above normal! On Saturday we could break the record high at GSP of 70 set back in 2000.
If you are looking for colder air... you can find it 216 hours out on the GFS model. Meaning that next weekend COULD be quite chilly!!! That would make sense, since we are in January after all! We could even get some significant rain before that cold air arrives next week. So, some good stuff to look forward to, but for now it's going to be clouds, fog, drizzle and light rain! Blah!
