First Alert Forecast: Strong January thaw late this week

(WTOL) -

A First Alert Day through 8 a.m. this morning for slippery and icy roads possible due to overnight blowing and drifting snow, especially rural areas. 

A few isolated snow flurries. Very cold, wind chills near or below zero.  Mostly cloudy skies this afternoon with highs only in the upper teens. 

Warmer weather will arrive through the course of the week.  Highs return back above freezing on Thursday and Friday. 

A considerable thaw into the weekend with highs well into the 40s, possibly pushing 50 degrees!
