LAURENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -
It's a big weekend for Miss South Carolina Ali Rogers. She's representing Laurens County at the Miss America Pageant.
The thought of Laurens County native Ali Rogers competing for Miss America hasn't really sunk in with her mother.
"It's just hard to believe it's real," said Ali's mother, Adair Rogers.
She told us Friday afternoon by phone the national spotlight hasn't phased the Clemson University junior one bit.

"She says, 'Mom, I'm just calm and I'm having a ball,'" said Rogers.
Laurens Mayor Sharon Brownlee says the city sent Ali some roses earlier this week. Several businesses have signs up wishing her well on her journey, too. Plus, some fans have even started to sport Ali's favorite fingernail and toenail polish, royal blue.
Ali has already taken home the top prize for the swimsuit competition Wednesday night. The next step will be to see if she will be crowned Miss America.
Miss South Carolina is the favorite to be crowned Miss America Saturday night at Planet Hollywood, according to a Las Vegas odds-maker.
