PENDLETON, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Anderson County deputies are investigating a shooting at a home on Refuge Road in Pendleton.
Deputies said the two men involved had an unresolved dispute earlier in the day on Saturday. Then about 7 p.m., the suspect made an unwanted entry into the other man's home on Refuge Road and presented a gun, deputies said.
Deputies said the homeowner also had a gun and shot the suspect.
That suspect tried to flee the scene, but arriving deputies found him outside the home with a gunshot wound to the leg that was not life-threatening, according to investigators.
At this point, deputies say the investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed. They said once the man, identified as Kevin Powers, is released from a hospital he will be charged with first-degree burglary.
Deputies do not expect the homeowner to face any charges.
